Challenge: Standardised graduate development program to ensure consistency in training and to support the growth of its new hires.

Solution: Tailored graduate development program that combined expertise from both the company and FMI delivered over a three-year period to graduates across Australia.

Outcome: Over the course of 15 years, many of the initial graduates progressed into senior positions within the company, demonstrating the long-term value of the program. The initiative also contributed to higher employee retention rates and played a significant role in fostering a strong, cohesive company culture.

The company, which hires an average of 60 new graduates annually, sought to establish a standardised graduate development program to ensure consistency in training and to support the growth of its new hires. The goal was to create a comprehensive, company-wide development pathway for every graduate joining the organisation.

The company partnered with Frontline Management Institute (FMI) to co-develop a tailored graduate development program that combined expertise from both the company and FMI. Over a three-year period, the program provided 15 days of in- house training on company-specific subjects delivered by the client, and 15 days of training delivered by FMI on management, leadership, communication, and people skills. The program was delivered face-to-face across multiple locations, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, and Perth, ensuring accessibility to graduates nationwide.

The graduate development program proved highly successful in meeting its objectives. Over the course of 15 years, many of the initial graduates progressed into senior positions within the company, demonstrating the long-term value of the program. The initiative also contributed to higher employee retention rates and played a significant role in fostering a strong, cohesive company culture.
