OVERVIEW
FMI has worked with thousands of managers over a span of more than twenty years delivering management development programs and courses to drive improved manager performance. Over this time, our clients who have opted to include a Management Application Project (MAP) have seen the most significant behavioural change in program participants. This has resulted in improved engagement and performance of managers and their teams. They have also experienced the highest return on investment with outcomes and performance improvements clearly tracked through the project process.
FMI’S MANAGEMENT APPLICATION PROJECT (MAP)
FMI’s Management Application Project (MAP) is a professional development tool to improve performance of managers.
The self-directed, experiential project supports participants to identify management related opportunities, issues, tasks and problems and take the initiative to address them in a timely and cost effective way. Projects must deliver measurable benefits to the organisation that are relevant to strategic objectives and / or needs. The MAP also facilitates mentoring and connection with a network of managers and peers who can provide ideas, feedback and support even after the project has been completed.
Over a four to eight week period participants complete a MAP that helps them to develop and embed knowledge, skills and experience and drive behavioural change. It is undertaken by participants when they complete a short course or training program with FMI.
LEVELS OF MANAGEMENT APPLICATION PROJECT (MAPS)
There are three levels of Management Application Projects. The client choses the level(s) that are best suited for the group of learners and the objectives to be achieved.
Skills MAP

Application and practice of management strategies and techniques to improve specific skills.

Designed for team leaders, supervisors and team members.

Completed as an individual project with feedback from colleagues.

4 week project
1 - 2 hours per week

Practice delegation with a colleague, seek their feedback and review outcomes
Manage a team meeting and implement strategies to help run the meeting more effectively
Hold discussions using professional communication strategies
Performance MAP

Focused work each week to change behaviours and improve performance.

Designed for frontline managers, managers and experienced team leaders and supervisors.

Completed as an individual project with feedback from a Project Mentor or Advisor.

1 - 3 hours per week

Introduce feedback tools to help motivate, support and engage team members
Coach team members to develop skills and raise level of performance
Introduce weekly planning to help prioritise time and tasks
Strategic MAP

Planning and implementation of strategic changes to deliver results for the organisation.
