A practical certification program for frontline supervisors to showcase their competencies and advance their role and career.

OVERVIEW

FMI’s Frontline Supervisor Certification offers a practical framework for supervisors to showcase their competencies and commitment to advancing their role and career. This FMI international qualification is available worldwide.

The assessment process includes an introductory briefing and preparation of documentation portfolio including current achievements, future improvement plans and a personal development plan, a validation report. Upon submission, the participant then completed a 60 minute interview with an assessor to discuss the portfolio.

WHO IS THIS CERTIFICATION DESIGNED FOR?

This certification is designed for supervisors who have at least 1 year experience in their role.

PROGRAM DURATION

The participant has up to 12 weeks to prepare and submit the portfolio. The interview will be scheduled shortly after the portfolio has been submitted.

ASSESSMENT PROCESS

The assessment process includes:

  1. Introductory briefing: A 30-minute briefing with an FMI assessor to outline the process and answer any questions the participant may have. This is conducted online via video call. The participant is provided a copy of FMI’s Practical Management Skills learning guide.

  2. Portfolio: Preparation of documentation including:

    • Current Achievements: Highlighting your current role, responsibilities and 3 key accomplishments as a manager.

    • Future Improvement Plans: Outlining 2 strategies for enhancing management skills to benefit the candidate’s organisation.

    • Personal Development Plans: Outlining the most important area of personal management skills and identifying steps for boosting individual performance.

    Email support is available during this time to assist the participant.

  3. Validation report: A written report from a manager or peer who can validate the participant’s portfolio documentation.

  4. Interview: A 60-minute interview is conducted online via video call with an assessor, who will evaluate and provide feedback on the participant’s portfolio. If additional documentation is required, the assessor will request it during the interview. The participant will have 7 days to provide additional documentation for consideration

  5. Certification: Upon satisfactory completion of the assessment, the participant is sent a digital FMI Frontline Supervisor Certification certificate.

COACHING SUPPORT

This certification program can be combined with coaching to support the participant with their learning and development objectives. Coaching can cover a range of topics such as:

  • Preparation of portfolio documentation

  • Developing skills for career progression

  • Overcoming a challenge within their management role
